Province Launches Community Housing Capital Fund to Protect Renters

Non-profits and community housing organizations will soon receive capital grants to help purchase and preserve affordable rental housing. The Community Housing Capital Fund will provide one-time equity grants to pre-qualified organizations to finance buildings with five or more units and maintain affordable rents. This initiative aims to overcome the financing challenges these organizations face from private lenders. Pre-qualification starts in September, with the program administered by the Community Housing Transformation Centre.
